Discipline Procedures
A Zero Tolerance Offense (fight, violence, and/or intimidation) will not fall within these guidelines. These require referral to office immediately.
THE FOLLOWING STEPS ARE FOR BEHAVIOR:
First Step: Phone call to speak to parent/guardian. If a message is left, a second attempt must be made to contact parent/guardian.
Second Step: Parent conference held by individual teacher and /or grade level group. This meeting needs to include a counselor or administrator.
Third Step: Referral to office for behavior (The referral must include information/dates for steps one and two. If it does not, the student will be returned to class.).
1stReferral = One day of suspension and counselor conference upon return.
2ndReferral = Three days of suspension and parent conference with administration, counselor and teacher to sign behavior contract.
3rdReferral and additional referrals = Five days of suspension.
THE FOLLOWING STEPS ARE FOR BINDER DISCREPANCIES/LACK OF MATERIALS:
First Step: Phones call to speak to parent/guardian (this is not a Teleparent message). If a message is left, a second attempt must be made to contact parent/guardian.
Second Step: Referral to counselor for parent contact to discuss why student does not have appropriate materials.
Third Step: Referral to office (The referral must include information/dates for steps one and two. If it does not, the student will be returned to class.)
1st Referral= One day of suspension.
2nd Referral= Three days of suspension and parent conference with administration, counselor and teacher to sign behavior contract.
3rd Referral and additional referrals=Five days of suspension.
TARDIES:
Detention will be assigned by the attendance office and students will serve detention on Friday for three or more tardies per week.
Tardy sweeps will be conducted on a regular basis.
